Hospital to hold open house on Oct. 17

BLYTHE - Palo Verde Hospital will be holding an Open House on Oct. 17 from 4-7 p.m.

Tours of the hospital will be conducted and visitors will learn how the hospital is investing in new technology, structural improvements, patient safety, and improved customer service as follows:

• Improvements in emergency room (ER) designed to increase timeliness and patient safety,

• Major structural investments that help provide comfort for patients,

• Advanced technology that digitizes the Radiology suite that enables the patient to leave with a single CD that may include everything from a CT scan, to an X-ray or Mammogram.

• New equipment including the Pyxis system, improved monitoring equipment and new beds.

• Newly implemented electronic medical records (EMR) system enhancing patient safety and functionality for staff, physicians and patients.

After the tour, visitors can enjoy refreshments in the cafeteria, compliments of Sodexo. Don't forget to stop by the helipad during the tour and see the helicopter.

There will be free cholesterol checks and women can sign up for a discounted mammogram, which Palo Verde Hospital will be offering for the month of October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Mammograms can be scheduled from Oct. 15 - Oct. 31.

The total cost for the mammograms (including exam & physician interpretation) will be $135, a savings of over 50 percent.

I hope there will be free samples from Purdue Pharma, I just love their lineup of pain relievers. Fentanyl boy, now that's where it's at!! Let me get a 100mcg!!!

Reggie yes they are wonderful. She was my nurse that was on my flight in July. They live here and are here all the time. If you want to see her or your mom wants to, go down to their office on north broadway. I glad your moms well.

Awesome! I'll get to see trina and the flight crew again. They transported my mom last year and she's doing great. They're back for the winter again! :-)
