I forgot this, if you want to do something about the mass killing. Then Stop the Abortion of Innocent Babies. But wait you might just be pro-choice?

@.... Society Has changed. A few years back in Europe, where they do not allow any firearms/guns there was that mass killing of kids. You can take the weapons away/band them from the public. It will not matter if a person wants to kill he will find a way to do it.

In Asia you have people killing others with swords were guns are not allowed also. In the news years back a person killed kids at an elementary school with a knife. Plus that group that used poison gas on the subway.

So no matter what, if there is a will they will find a way to do the mass killing.

Many people collect painting, coins, trains, and so on, some collect guns.

In Chicago as you said. It does not work, guns are illegal there. But they still find there way into the hands of criminals. If you want to talk about stupid gun laws talk to the Obama's administration, they made sure that the Mexican Cartel had plenty of them.

In an emergency it's better to have if needed, than not have if needed. Boy's scouts motto. You do know if anarchy ever happens, you will be fighting your friends for what little you have. Then see how far words get you.

I just threw that in for drama. But anything could be used as a weapon. So were do we draw the line?

El pica..... I don't see boogie men around every corner. I'm not the one who has to buy an assault weapon for protection from whatever it is gun owners profess they are afraid of. Sure many own guns for sport or for legitimate protection concerns but I'd guess that most just want to feel like the big guy with the big gun.
I see women and children killed because our society values open access to assault weapons to anyone who wants them more than innocent lives. The current gun laws are a joke and provide minimal guarantees to keep them out of the hands of criminals. They don't stop the unqualified , untrained, psychologically disturbed, mentally unbalanced, or socially disenfranchised from getting those weapons to kill. We can't stop it all, but we aren't trying to stop any of it because we want our guns, we like our guns, and the gun lobbyist spread fear and conspiracy theories to sell more guns. So more children will die senselessly, more innocent victims. Forever denied their right to life, leaving shattered families behind. For what? What great cause? The right to bear arms? Until we value life more than unfettered unregulated access to military grade assault weapons the mass killings will continue and probably get worse. If your ok with that, fine. I'm not.

@....Society Has changed. So you see a boogie man in every nook and cranny. So now what if the teacher go's nuts and starts killing kids. OK now what if a Cop go's nuts an starts killing innocent people? So you also say that in a gun battle your accuracy go's south by 20 percent? Then explain the bad guys?

So to be an officer of the law how many hours of training do they get? To get a carry permit you have to get trained in firearms they just don't give them to anybody. You do know that some teachers have military experience right? But wait what if they start killing since they are trained killers.

But in your world even if they did away with all guns. They would then kill people by the bunch with swords. Then we would have to do away with the swords too. So what's next make rocks illegal too, in the end. For you there will never be an end.

So in the end it's all about "IF". Then we could say that "IF" the Queen had X she would then be King. We could do IF's all day and never be finish.

El pica.... If you are expert marksman and involved in a gun battle your accuracy drops from 90 down to below 20 percent. That's if you are a trained professional. Imagine untrained teachers being put in that situation, or imagine the armed teacher is the one who goes nuts and starts shooting. Arming everyone just increases the possibility of more gun violence, more gun accidents, more gun deaths. Throw on top of that access military grade assault weapons, it just gives those who simply want to kill the power to do it in a big way.
There was a time in this country when you didn't have to carry a gun or have armed guards in public places. That is where we are going if we arent already there. It's idiocy. Gun advocates always say more guns are the answer.
Every time there is a mass shooting e remember we had the chance to do something and continue not to. I understand you have a right to own a gun to defend yourself as you should. But with that right comes great responsibility that most are unwilling to acknowledge. Guns are made with the sole intent to kill. Regardless of whose hand that gun is in, if you own it you are responsible for how it may be used.

@....Society Has changed. I can counter that by simply pointing out that those killing could have been stop if someone had been armed. If you notice that you have no mass killing where weapons are legal. That is where you can legally carry a conceal weapon. It also has been proven that place's that allow people to care weapons that crime has gone down.

Look at the news about a parent that was kick out of hers kid's school because she posted photos on Facebook of her weapons. She is a Veteran. So this Demonizing all people because of a few.

More people have been killed by DUI's than Assault Weapons here in America. Or by Child Abuse by their parents. I think that people should first be tested if they want to have children. So how do you stop the DUI's and Child Abuse? As to what extreme do you want to take it?

El pica.... Those places you refer went to strict gun laws because gun violence was and in many cases still is out of control. It will take a long time to get it back under control. These shootings at schools and movie theaters used gun purchased legally. The laws on the books don't work, not because they aren't enforced but because they are jokes. We don't allow drinking under the age21 but at 18 you can buy a shotgun and go hunting for someone your mad at. It doesn't make sense. The laws don't work. We need better laws. We shouldn't sell military grade weapons or ammunition that isn't designed for defense but rather assault. Our Police are outgunned by what is sold in the local store or the one across the state line. It needs to be rolled back. How many more women and kids are going to slaughter because the fanatics among us value their unfettered and unregulated acces to guns? When does the pursuit off life trump some nutcase's right to buy a gun and slaughter children simply because he has no criminal background or mommy and daddy didnt secure their (deleted) guns well enough. Or do the kids just not matter anymore cause they are dead? Or do they just not matter because we didn't know them? It's insanity because we don't have to accept it. It can be changed.

@....Society Has changed. Just look at Chicago, New York and here In California. Chicago. No Guns allowed look how much killing everyday it does not make the news unless a white on black crime is committed. The same for NYC, now they want gun owners to sell their weapons or give them to the City if they chamber X amount bullets.

That will not stop the crime there or any where because only the law abiding people will comply. It's funny how People in Government and the same people that want gun laws, sends kids to kill overseas just out of high school.

Most think that they are too immature to drink Alcohol or buy handguns. But it's OK to send them overseas. Once these same kinds return they then want to take their rights away to own any weapons.

Then lets have they same test for our young men, that you want people to get before buying a weapon. Before sending them overseas to kill.

The same rules could apply to all of the sells of cars or prescription drugs as with alcohol or for that matter the cell phone company that, that person was using while driving and texting, while under the influence of alcohol and prescription drugs. In which people were killed by that person doing the above.

Lets try to enforce the laws that are on the books before enacting new laws.

Hello El Pica...... To a degree I agree with you. People should have the right to own a gun. Not arguing that. How many more innocent men women and children have to be killed by crazies with guns meanwhile the gun owning community and industry refuse to accept any material restrictions at all. You can be the most upstanding law abiding gun owner who locks his gun up. But whose to say all gun owners are that way. Whose to say your kid or his friends are troubled and angry and know where your guns are and how to get them so they can do the unimaginable. There is no training no licensing no test of skills and in some places no background checks. Their are no insurance requirements so if your gun kills the community pays the financial cost not to mention the emotional. Other countries have laws like these and they work far better than what we have. We used to have an effective assault weapons ban but the industry used technicalities to get around that. You have a right to own a gun but for the protection of the non gun community you should be able to prove you are competent to have that right. Just like when you drive a car, fly a plane, or own and operate something that can kill. And you should be required to pay insurance for any damages your gun may cause.

@....Society Has changed. You were doing great until your true colors came out. Gun Laws have noting to do with crime? It has nothing to do with crimes because criminals follow no laws so no matter what laws are on the books they will break them. Heavy restrictive Gun laws infringe on the honest hard working citizens of California.

Now it's these Officers of the Law that are acting like thugs. These are the kids that grew up watching violent movies on TV and playing those violent games on the Box. So it makes it easy for them to be bad with a badge. It's OK to abuse the law.

That sword that you freely swing cuts both ways.

Societychanged. We allowed it. Not saying kids shouldn't be held responsible for true actions because they should be. But the parents may be absent from their lives for whatever reason. They are raised in a culture of violence just by turning on the tv or playing video games. They are exposed or have access to the most vulgar and desensitizing garbage via the web. It is constant bombardment of their minds and morals with no supervision. Then add all drugs that are easily available. Add to that the ever increasing poverty and the hopelessness that comes with it as the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class is thinned out as companies send jobs overseas to take advantage of cheap labor in slave like labor factories this country wouldnt allow. But thats Capitalism. Society tends to blame the schools because somhow they became the parents, counselors, doctors, psychiatrists, and even police who now responsible for these kids. Yet while they constantly have more demands on them they are not funded to properly take on these tasks. Even when now they have become targets for the crazies and their guns. Oh but we value our guns more than their lives so no sensible gun laws are ever passed. We did this to ourselves and our children. We can fix it.

@Kris Kringle
That's a very mean thing to say about God. He is love. That's it. The rest is propaganda to scare people into behaving in a manner that YOU deem appropriate. I don't think he gives a crap about the pledge of allegiance.

Happy Holidays.

What in the (deleted)is wrong with these kids you would think they'd understand that the recreation center was put there for them so that they wouldn't have to go out and do silly stupid stuff like this. I hope their mommy and daddy step up to the plate and discipline these kids. Too bad we can't see their faces plastered on the front of the times so they can feel the embarrassment that they have brought themselves and their families. One of the worst things you can be in life is a thief, get a job bust your hump and earn the things you want . Stop making stupid choices you're young you have time and the time is right now to make things right for yourself , own up to what you've done so that you can clear your conscience and start living a life that's working towards becoming a productive honest hard-working member of our community.

@ Kris Kringle

What words kids can or cannot say has little to do with whether they decide to steal. Haha, who told you kids were not allowed to say the pledge? Kids say in Blythe Schools every morning, it certainly hasn't helped them much. Actually forcing them to say the pledge or establishing an expectation thereto is the antithesis of Freedom. Did you know the pledge was written by a Socialist? I have not heard of any instance here where saying "God" or "Santa" has been disallowed... even if it is, it is not the school's business to teach about God or Santa.
