BLYTHE - Blythe police wait for the Riverside County coroner at Burtons Trailer Park after finding a man and woman dead inside a trailer.

Police got a call about a welfare check this morning after one of the individuals who live in the home didn't show up at work. Police went to the home and didn't get an answer at the door. In the meantime, a family member opened the door, called police, and when the officers went inside they found the two bodies.

Early police reports say it may be a possible murder-suicide.

Update

Riverside County Coroners Office identified the couple as Maria Gomez, 60, and Ismael Gomez, 61, both of Blythe.

Police did not release any information about the cause or manner of death of either person. Officers did say there does not appear to be anyone outside of the home involved.

This case remains an open investigation and anyone with information about this case should call Blythe Police Department Detectives at 760-922-6111 or they can give information anonymously by calling Crime Stop at 760-921-CARE (2273) or by email at blythepd@cityofblythe.ca.gov.
